Hi, I’m Bill and I look after the wonderful, diverse and often spectacular areas of Southern New Zealand.
Southland is a great place to live but sometimes it’s just nice to get away for a while. And for me, as a pet owner, there lies the problem – I am unable to really ‘get away from it all’ when I am worrying about my pets and things back home.
I was thinking to myself, I really, really need a holiday, kennels are expensive and one of my dogs hates them, she wouldn’t settle anyway and the other one would definitely think he’d been abandoned AND by the time I do go away I hope to have a few chickens, I couldn’t kennel those even if I wanted to!
Look on the net Bill, you’re bound to find something on there, I thought. To my surprise I found just what I was looking for ……. Homesit, what a great I idea I said, they cover everything, these guys are awesome! The good people at Homesit replied to my emails very promptly, one thing lead to another and here we are today – you’re reading what WE can do for you, which is just fantastic - welcome!!!
Homesit provides you with the knowledge that everything possible is being done whilst you are away to ensure that you have no need to worry. For whatever reason you need to be away, sometimes we just have to go and it’s not necessarily on holiday, you will want to know that your pets, plants and property are in safe and caring hands.
You may be going on the holiday of a lifetime or be a regular traveller for business - coincidentally, our house sitters are very much the same! They choose to housesit for all sorts of reasons, what they all have in common though is that they love what they do and appreciate how important it is to you that your most precious possessions and furry, feathered or finned friends are in the hands of diligent and reliable people.
Whilst our sitters are house sitting and earning their excellent reputations, we value their commitment, flexibility and contribution to this lifestyle. Without an excellent set of references and a clean police record the options for house sitters would be very limited. We are careful and thorough with our background checks.

Yes, the service we provide isn’t free (as are some other sites) but as I often reminded – quality doesn’t come cheap! but I also appreciate a good thing when I see one! All joking aside, you get what you pay for these days. I’m sure you will find our service and standards quite unique and second to none.

Fees are calculated inclusive of the days the sitter moves in and out – there are no other fees or hidden costs for you – you don’t pay the sitter.
Sitting fees are required 10 days prior to the Sit commencing.
